    Manually upgrading your ViViFi® firmware


    If you have received an email asking you to upgrade your The ViViFi® device, don't worry, it's simply there to make sure that your device is performing as best as it can and you receive the best service from vividwireless.

    If an automatic upgrade was not successful, the upgrade process can be done manually by uploading the firmware file to your ViViFi®. Please click the following link to download and save this file to your computer:

    Then, follow these steps:

    1. Save the file to a folder that is easily accessible, such as the 'Desktop'. Do not change the name or format of the file

    2. Turn the ViViFi on and connect it to your computer via Wi-Fi (please ensure you have an active account)

    3. Log into the web user interface by typing '192.168.1.1' into your browser (the default user name is 'admin' and default password is 'admin123')

    4. Click the 'Management' tab at the top of the screen and select 'Upgrade' from the sub menu below (note: please DO NOT click factory reset)

    5. Click browse to locate the file saved on the computer Desktop. Once found, select it and press 'update' to begin the firmware upgrade process

    6. Once this is complete, the device will shut down. Turn it back on again and check that it has upgraded successfully. To do this, look at the 'Software Version:' row on the 'Home' page and it should contain '2341'. The full version would read as follows: '2.0.0.0 [R2341 (Jan 7 2011 11:52:50)]'

    7. If the software version reads '2341', it has been successfully upgraded and no further action is required. If not, please repeat the process again.

    Connection Manager Software


    Use the following if your computer is not currently recognising your USB modem and/or doesn't automatically install connection manager on your PC.

    The latest connection manager software for the vividwireless USB modem.

    Installation instructions

    1. Download vividCMB037.zip

    2. Extract software using either WinZip®, winRAR or 7-Zip

    3. Once extracted, open the folder and double click on Startsetup.exe to install the software

    4. Plug in USB modem and the Connection Manager Software will install.

    This USB Modem upgrade (Version B037) is recommended for all users running Windows XP®, Windows Vista® and Windows 7®

    It includes general fixes that will enhance your USB Modem's connectivity and performance with your vividwireless service.

    Please ensure that your laptop is plugged into a power socket and that your USB modem remains inserted into the laptop during the upgrade process.

  • Macintosh® Users



    Mac® firmware upgrade for vividwireless USB modem

    USB Modem upgrade (version Mac 37) is recommended for all USB modem users running Mac Operating Systems. In particular, this will allow customers with 64-bit Operating Systems to now use the USB modem.

    This firmware version includes general fixes that will enhance your USB modem's connectivity and performance with your vividwireless service.

    Please ensure that your computer is plugged into a power socket and that your USB modem remains inserted in the computer during the upgrade process. Once downloaded, please press 'run' to complete the upgrade. This should take approximately 10 minutes.

    It is recommended that you save the file to the computer desktop so you can easily find it later. The USB modem will re-connect itself to the vividwireless service and the firmware upgrade is complete!
